- WikiLeaks blames US investigating agency CIA for Assange’s arrest
- Britain’s Home Secretary Sajid Javid tweeted about the arrest of Assange
- In 2010 Assange was accused of raping and sexually assaulting in Sweden, after which he took refuge in the Embassy of Ecuador
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange (47) was arrested on Thursday by British police. Assange had taken shelter in Ecuador’s embassy since 2012. Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno said that due to the continuous violation of international agreements, we refused to surrender to Assange. Assange was arrested under the warrant issued in 2012 after Ecuador’s decision. They will be offered in Westminster Court. However, WikiLeaks has said that Ecuador has taken illegal steps to declare Assange’s political asylum as a violation of international agreements. WikiLeaks has also blamed the US investigating agency CIA for the move. Britain’s Home Secretary Sajid Javid tweeted and informed that Assange is in the custody of the police and is facing a court in the UK.
Assange accused of leaking information related to President
Assange’s relations were frozen when he was accused of leaking personal information attached to President Moreno. Moreno also accused of breaking the terms of the agreement to grant asylum on Assange. However, he appealed to Britain that Assange should not be extradited in a country where he was sentenced to physical harassment or death.
Assange was charged with rap
In 2010, the Swedish police questioned Julian Assange in two cases of rape and sexual abuse. After this, an international arrest warrant was issued against Asanga so that they could be questioned on charges of rape and exploitation. However, after taking refuge in Assange’s Ecuador Embassy in 2012, the charges of the rape were lifted on them. However, in spite of this, Assange had refused to leave the embassy because he feared that America would be extradited due to work done in WikiLeaks.
Documents related to war were public
As of March 2018, Assange internet connection was also cut. The reason for this was the promise made by Assange, in which he had said that he will not make any messages about relations from other countries, but he did not do this. Assange made public the four million documents related to the Iraq War on the WikiLeaks website. Through this, he accused the United States of America and England of war for war crimes. Assange has also alleged that during the US presidential election, Russian intelligence agencies hacked emails related to Hillary Clinton’s campaign and gave them to WikiLeaks.
